On November 2017, Seoul Cyber University (SCU) and Northern Arctic
Federal University (NArFU) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the
SCU campus. At the MoU signing ceremony, Rector Elena Kudryashova of NArFU paid
her honourable visit to SCU, along with the Managing Director Ivan Scherbak
from Association of Tchaikovsky Competition Stars (ATCS).
Even before MoU signing ceremony, there has been some constant
communication between President Eunjoo Lee of SCU and Rector Kudryashova of
NArFU to promote the constructive relationship between the two institutes.
Nonetheless, Rector Kudryashova could not find the opportunity to visit the SCU
campus, due to her tight schedule.
At last, Rector Kudryashova managed to visit the SCU campus upon her
arrival at the Incheon Airport on the 8
th
of November 2017. Rector’s
visit was indeed very important as it signifies the academic cooperation with
the communities in the arctic region of Russia. NArFU has contributed to the
development of the arctic region with the state-of-art science and technology.
Furthermore, the department of humanities at NArFU had benefitted the regional
communities by providing the various cultural educations.
At the MoU ceremony, both President Lee and Rector Kudryashova
shared the common value of education to improve the livelihood of the community
and enhance the social infrastructure. Rector Kudryashova expressed her
astonishment that SCU had given an enormous impact upon the growth of
e-learning in Korea and the world. In response, President Lee also acknowledged
that NArFU had played a pivotal role in the development of the arctic region.
As the MoU documents were signed by the two institutes, SCU and
NArFU might extend their areas of cooperation to a wider part of the academic
activity. To begin with, President Lee implied that SCU could be of any
assistance to help develop the e-learning platform at NArFU, while Rector
pointed out that the academic excellence might be achieved with the cooperation
between the two institutes.
Meanwhile Rector Kudryashova had also made her visit in Seoul to
participate in the V Russian and Korean Rector’s Forum, held in Marriot Hotel. And
it was strongly expected that Rector’s visit would lead to the betterment of
higher education in Korea and Russia.
