Faculty members of our university participating in the ‘Adobe Generative AI
Education’ special seminar held at Adobe Korea On Tuesday, August 19th(Tue),
faculty members from the Department of Computer Engineering, Department of
Artificial Intelligence, Department of Big Data & Information Security, and
Department of AI Creators attended the ‘Adobe Generative AI Education’ special
seminar, organized by Adobe’s official distributor SCK, at Adobe Korea located
in Parnas Tower, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Professor Kim Hwan, Head of the Department
of AI Creators and Project Manager (PM) of the Ministry of Education’s Remote
University Education Innovation Support Program, who is leading AI education
innovation at our university, planned and tailored the seminar specifically for
faculty members. The seminar focused on the educational
applications of the generative AI platform Firefly. SCK Solution Consultant Park
Sang Cheol demonstrated Firefly’s technical principles, ownership resolution
methods, and practical use in creating educational content. Firefly’s ability
to generate educational materials without ownership issues drew particular
attention. Participating faculty members reached a consensus that generative AI
will become a key tool for enhancing the quality of remote education. Professor Kim stated, “As part of the
Ministry of Education’s Remote University Education Innovation Support Program,
we are promoting the strengthening of AI education capabilities. This seminar
laid a practical foundation for applying generative AI in educational
settings.” Professor Noh Geon Tae, Director of the Big
Data & AI Center, emphasized, “By combining the Center’s AI infrastructure
with Adobe technologies, we will create synergies in both research and
education.” Professor Lee Jong Won from the Department of Computer Engineering
added, “We have secured concrete methodologies for integrating generative AI
into programming education.” Through this event, our university aims to
build a systematic AI education ecosystem led by the Big Data & AI Center.
In particular, seminar content will be gradually integrated into the
curriculum, while collaboration with Adobe will institutionalize faculty
development programs and open student-oriented generative AI training courses. The Department of AI Creators will first
establish a hands-on generative AI course, later expanding it to other
departments. The Big Data & AI Center will also develop a Firefly-based
teaching and learning support system and AI content creation platform, while
promoting university-wide AI education standardization through generative AI
utilization guidelines. The Big Data & AI Center, which will serve as the key entity in building this AI education ecosystem, was established in 2020 to enhance big data and AI competencies among faculty and students, as well as improve work efficiency through big data and AI applications. Since its establishment, it has worked closely with the Department of Big Data & Information Security to advance the spread and integration of big data and AI at Seoul Cyber University. Recently, the Center has actively collaborated with internal and external AI experts and hosted special lectures. This year, it has additionally launched AI-related research study programs for faculty members. |
