SCU Wins Grand Awards at the 2026
5th HTHT Masterclass Competition - Wins First Place in Both Categories of the Asia

Masterclass was held at Hansung University from September 18th for
two days and one night. As part of this year’s Masterclass, a competition was
held with the support of AES Global, chaired by Toru Kishida. Seoul Cyber
University achieved outstanding results, winning the Asia EdTech Summit (AES)
Chairperson’s Award in both categories (first place) as well as the Hansung
University President’s Award.
The HTHT Masterclass aims to share
innovative AI-based education practices at universities and collaborative
models between universities and EdTech companies. Hosted by the Korea
University Competitiveness Research Institute and Hansung University, the event
brought together university presidents and professors from across Korea, as
well as representatives from EdTech companies.
The HTHT Masterclass Competition featured
two categories: Category 1, Innovative Teaching and Learning Practices Using AI
Tools, and Category 2, Innovative Curriculum Transformation for AX in Academic
Fields. From Seoul Cyber University, Professor Kim Hwan presented the
university’s use of AI discussion, AI assignment feedback, and AI-assisted
assessment in cyber university education in Category 1. In Category 2,
Professor Shin Il Jin presented an innovative AX-based curriculum for cultivating
practice-oriented talent in the Department of AI Real Estate Big Data, while
Vice President Chun Ji Young presented the outcomes of the “Two-Track AI
Microdegree” program for AX and its data-driven feedback system.
At the competition, Professor Kim Hwan and
Professor Shin Il Jin each won first place in their respective categories,
receiving the Asia EdTech Summit Chairperson’s Award. Vice President Chun Ji Young
also received the Hansung University President’s Award, further highlighting
Seoul Cyber University’s standing as a leading AI university.
Seoul Cyber University has consistently
invested in building state-of-the-art EdTech infrastructure and providing
immersive learning environments that transcend the boundaries of time and
space. The awards are regarded as the result of these university-wide
investments and the faculty’s continuous commitment to research and innovation.
The award recipients commented, “These
awards are more than a personal honor; they represent the results of
future-oriented educational innovation created together by the entire
university community. We will continue to advance our educational content and
systems so that students can experience more sophisticated and innovative
learning in the rapidly changing EdTech environment.”
Meanwhile, Seoul Cyber University has established itself as a benchmark for distance education in Korea through its systematic online education system and pioneering adoption of EdTech. The university is expected to further strengthen its position as a global leader in EdTech and higher education innovation. |
