2025 Academic Year Entrance Ceremony Held -Four-leaf clovers gifted to symbolize good luck for new students

university. On Saturday, February 22, our university
successfully held the 2025 Academic Year Entrance Ceremony at the Tchaikovsky
Hall on campus in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. The event included various segments such
as a welcome address, a pledge by a representative of the new students,
scholarship awards, and a congratulatory vocal performance.

pledge. A particularly notable part of this year’s
ceremony was the congratulatory speech delivered by Admiral Kim Jeong-Il.
Admiral Kim, a graduate of the Korea Naval Academy, served in various key roles
including Commanding Officer of the Seongnam and Deputy Commander of the Wang
Geon, as well as Commander of the Jinhae Naval Base and President of the Naval
Education and Training Command. This year, he entered our newly established
School of Wellness and Health - Department of Integrated Health Management as a
freshman, delivering a meaningful speech while also sharing his commitment as a
fellow new student.

also a special congratulatory performance by Professor Seo Sun-Young, one of
Korea’s most renowned sopranos. She performed Magnolia composed by Kim Dong-Jin
and The Lord’s Prayer by Albert Hay Malotte, leaving the audience deeply moved
and inspired.

this new journey, four-leaf clovers - symbols of good luck - were handed out to
undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, accompanied by a photo event.
After the ceremony, students attended department-specific gatherings, where
they could meet professors, ask questions, and experience campus life
firsthand. The presence of international students
choosing our university, a leader in K-education, was also notable. Incigul
Colakoglu, a new student from Turkiye (pictured first on the left below), who
entered the newly restructured Department of Korean Language Education, shared
her excitement: “I’m looking forward to student life at Seoul Cyber University
with great anticipation.”

entrance ceremony. Of particular interest this year were
students enrolling as families or returning for further studies. Some entire
families - couples and children - entered the university together. Others,
after graduating from three different departments, returned to enroll in a
newly established one, viewing graduation as a turning point in life. Many
students choose SCU upon recommendations from family members already enrolled,
and the university offers a Family Scholarship to provide financial support in
such cases.
