Our university, along with the Student Council (led by Kim Seon-hwa of the Elderly Welfare major), visited the Korean Red Cross (under the leadership of Chairman Kim Cheol-su) on August 25th (Friday) Together they donated a relief fund of 15 million won to assist the victims affected by the heavy rainfall.

The Student Council of our school participated in fundraising through active promotion by not only the general student body but also received enthusiastic backing from various departmental and major-specific student councils, local student groups, and key members of the Student Council''''''''s executive team.

President Lee Eun-joo of Seoul Cyber University emphasized the institution''''''''s dedication, stating, "We constantly strive to be a pillar of support for our community." Highlighting their regular blood donations, she further added, "In times of disaster, our Cyber University community unites, vowing to consistently contribute through charitable acts.

President of the Student Council Kim Seon-hwa said, "We hope our contribution provides some relief to the victims, who have suffered serious damage from the unprecedented heavy rainfall." She added, "In the future, wherever a helping hand is needed, the Student Council will always step forward wherever and whenever support is required."

Chairman Kim Cheol-su of the Korean Red Cross remarked, "Our bond with Seoul Cyber University is exceptionally strong. We extend our gratitude to those Seoul Cyber University students who juggle both work and academics and I look forward to maintaining a close relationship in the future."

In related news, our university''''''''s Student Council has been actively engaging in humanitarian initiatives. Beyond this recent donation for flood victims, they contributed 10 million won in 2020 towards COVID-19 prevention measures, and another 10 million won in 2022 to assist wildfire victims, embodying the life-saving ethos of the Red Cross.

Beyond the efforts of the Student Council, the university actively practices social responsibility through diverse channels. They''''''''ve dedicated the 13th of every month as ''''''''SCU Blood Donation Day,'''''''' reinforcing a culture of loving and sharing life. Volunteer initiatives, like ''''''''Home Repair,'''''''' aim to uplift the living conditions of households with disabled members. The university also highlights its commitment to sharing knowledge by offering a range of free special lectures, enabling the wider public to benefit from its high-quality courses and standing as a fine example of inclusive education.
