Seoul Cyber University's Department of Financial and Insurance Studies (headed by Professor Im Tae-soon, Dean of the College of Convergence Management) is organizing a special lecture series titled 'Becoming Wealthy' in preparation for the first half of the 2023 admissions. The series will be held on December 10th (Saturday), 17th (Saturday), and 24th (Saturday) at 1 PM through Seoul Cyber University's YouTube channel.

In the first week, there will be a special lecture by Kang Chang-hee, the representative of Trustone Asset Management Pension Forum, on 'Asset Management in the Era of 100 Years - Knowing Only This'. In the second week, Kim Seok-il, the Director of the Global Economic Research Institute, will present 'Outlook for the Stock Market in 2023'. Finally, in the third week, Kang Chang-hee will deliver a lecture on 'Why I Tell the Later Life Stories to the Younger Generation'.

Anyone interested in finance, including students and graduates of the Department of Financial and Insurance Studies, is welcome to participate.

The Department of Financial and Insurance Studies at our university was the first to be established among domestic cyber universities in 2000. Currently, it is highly regarded in the field of financial insurance among both online and offline universities, boasting the highest capacity in terms of the scale of enrolled students, faculty size, and lecture content. Notably, in September 2008, it became the first comprehensive course in asset management to be opened by an online and offline university, and in March 2010, it was designated as the first cyber university to provide education for AFPK certification.

The department aims to educate in both theory and practice covering the entire spectrum of finance, including banking, financial investment, insurance, and asset management, with the goal of producing specialized finance professionals in the global financial market. The faculty is equipped with practical experience in the financial industry, and the department is involved in nationwide human networking in the financial insurance field, running practical investment clubs, and operating student associations. Personalized close monitoring is conducted to facilitate graduate school admission both domestically and internationally. After graduation, students can explore various career paths, including working in domestic and international financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, financial investment firms, asset management companies), financial planning consulting, finance and accounting departments of general companies, and pursuing postgraduate studies domestically and internationally (graduate school, MBA, etc.).
