Applied Music Department to Hold 2024 Music Production Challenge - Submission deadline is Monday, 26th The 2024 Music Production Challenge hosted by the Applied Music Department is approaching its submission deadline on Monday, the 26th. The Music Production Challenge selects two original songs annually, providing students with the opportunity to produce music and assisting them in entering the mainstream music market. It's a popular program in the Practical Music Department aimed at helping students break into the music industry. To participate, students need to submit their original compositions that have not been copyrighted or publicly released, following specified formats (①Lead Sheet music notation, ②Demo audio or video performance, ③Brief introduction of the song, instruments used, and production plan) via email. Students selected in the competition collaborate with the faculty of the Applied Music Department for professional arrangement. They proceed to record with top-tier domestic musicians and undergo mixing and mastering processes with top-level engineers, ultimately releasing their music officially. Since 2021, the Applied Music Department has been conducting an annual competition for enrolled students. In 2021, BlueBird's 'Shattered Pieces (feat. Woozi)' and Jang Jaehyuk & Seungchan's 'P.L.M.K' were released. Following this, in 2022, Kim Soeun and Kim Eunhye formed the 'Soeun Sisters' team, and Choi Jungwon released 'Light' and 'Unforgettable (feat. Jung Yujin)'. In 2023, senior student Cheon Jangwon's 'Cheer' and Choi Yongju and Seo Juwon's 'Leaving Work' were released. These tracks can be found on various music platforms such as YouTube, Melon, Genie Music, FLO, Bugs, and VIBE. |
