Child Welfare Department Brings Third Havruta Question Game Session to Foster Skill Development

In the Child Welfare Department, a special seminar on the Havruta Question Game is being held to enhance students' abilities. Havruta, a traditional Jewish learning method, is characterized by its unique questioning and dialogue approach aimed at developing one's thoughts and gaining insight. The Havruta Question Game teaches parents how to ask specific questions to their children during a period emphasizing literacy and creativity, enabling children to independently develop logical reasoning and organize their thoughts.

This special seminar will be conducted over three sessions and is open to enrolled students of the School of Social Welfare who apply. It is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 13th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Room 205 of Building B on the main campus.

Kwon Munjeong, the director of the Child Thinking Research Institute, conducting the special lecture, has been active in various educational settings, including parent training for elementary school literacy, Havruta invited lectures in LA, Singapore, and the Filipino Korean community, as well as nationwide training for early childhood education institutions. She has authored multiple books, such as "Havruta Question Playground," "Havruta, Please," and "Questions and Play."

Those who complete all three sessions of the special lecture will also receive a "Child Havruta Education Level 2 Certificate" issued by the Child Thinking Research Institute.

Professor Im Se-hee, head of the Child Welfare Department, expressed her desire for the special lecture to offer an opportunity to learn how playful questions, can also enhance children's cognitive abilities. She remarked, "In particular, utilizing questioning techniques with picture books will be especially beneficial for early childcare.”
