a partnership agreement with the Art Education Institute of the Korea Fine Arts
Association (Director: Park Chan-Ok) to promote collaboration in specialized
fields such as education, training, consulting, and publicity. Through this agreement, the two institutions
plan to work together on ▲ mutual requests and cooperation in building
educational infrastructure ▲ mutual requests and cooperation for the
development of the content industry ▲ exchanges of human and material resources
in carrying out education, training, internships, consulting, and publicity ▲
as well as other collaborative initiatives. Representing the Korea Fine Arts
Association were Park Chan-Ok, Director of the Art Education Institute; Moon I-Sik,
Director of the Lifelong Education Center; and Kim Bok-Dong, Chair of the
Western Painting Division. Representing our university were President Lee Eun-Joo,
Vice President Lee Jung-Won, and Professor Jung Kyoo-Ri, Chair of the
Department of Painting. Vice President for External Relations, Koo Kuk-Mo, served
as the host. The Art Education Institute of the Korea
Fine Arts Association was established in 2017 and has invited leading Korean
artists to its faculty. With systematic practical training and a specialized
curriculum, it provides education ranging from the basics to professional-level
courses. Director Park Chan-Ok stated, “Through this
agreement with Seoul Cyber University, which offers outstanding education, we
will further strengthen our commitment to the development of Korean art and the
cultivation of excellent talent.” President Lee Eun-Joo remarked, “We are
delighted to sign this agreement with the Art Education Institute of the Korea
Fine Arts Association. By sharing our university’s excellent educational system
and expertise, we will create the best possible outcomes for both institutions
as well as for the talented individuals who will lead the future of Korean
art.” Meanwhile, the Department of Painting at
our university provides an environment where students can maximize their
artistic sensibility and creativity through both theory and practice. Based on
a 100% online learning system, it offers opportunities for students who are
balancing work, household responsibilities, or childcare to earn a four-year
bachelor’s degree in fine arts along with various professional certifications.
In addition to theory, the department emphasizes practice and field-centered
programs to support students’ artistic growth. Every year, students gain
firsthand experience through atelier visits to renowned artists, as well as opportunities
to participate in the Korea Minhwa Art Fair and graduation exhibitions. The
department also runs an outdoor sketching club, allowing students to experience
the joy of creating artworks in nature. These activities help students develop
unique creative practices and broaden their artistic perspectives. In 2025, the department changed its name from the Department of Painting & Crafts to the Department of Painting, reflecting contemporary needs and offering a new curriculum centered on both practice and theory. Providing the optimal environment for realizing students’ artistic passion and dreams, the Department of Painting connects academic learning with practical applications to support students in becoming professionals in the art field. More details about the department can be found on its homepage, Instagram, and YouTube channel. |
