The 3rd Artificial Intelligence Online Competition Held

- The 3rd Artificial Intelligence Online Competition Held

Hosted by the Big Data·AI Center, in collaboration with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Big Data & Information Security.

Our university will host the 3rd Artificial Intelligence Online Competition from June 22nd(Sun) to July 13th(Sun). The competition is organized by the Big Data·AI Center and co-hosted by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Big Data & Information Security.

This competition has been prepared to provide students with the opportunity to experience artificial intelligence technologies firsthand and demonstrate their abilities, in response to the growing social interest in and demand for AI. Any student of our university interested in AI, regardless of department, is welcome to participate.

The theme of this year’s competition is “Predict whether customers will accept a marketing campaign!” Participants will be asked to develop a predictive model using the provided dataset. Through this process, they are expected to gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience.

Awards will be given in three categories: Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Encouragement Award, with a total of 2.2 million KRW in prize money distributed across winners. ▲ Group 1 - Department of Artificial Intelligence and Department of Big Data & Information Security ▲ Group 2 - All other departments. Each group will be judged and awarded separately. Winners will be able to enhance their creative problem-solving skills and practical abilities through the development of outstanding AI models.

Prior to the competition, an online briefing session will be held on June 22nd(Sun) at 7:30 PM via Zoom. Participants in the session will receive an explanation of the example AI model program (baseline code). More details can be found on the Big Data·AI Center’s website.

The Big Data·AI Center, which is hosting this competition, was established in 2020 to strengthen the big data and AI capabilities of faculty and students and to enhance work efficiency based on these technologies. Since its establishment, it has collaborated with the Department of Big Data & Information Security to promote the expansion and integration of big data and AI at Seoul Cyber University. In particular, the center has recently been actively engaging in collaborations with internal and external AI experts and hosting expert lectures, while also launching a new AI research study group for faculty members this year.

Meanwhile, the Department of Artificial Intelligence, newly restructured in 2024, aims to train professionals in the rapidly growing field of AI, a leading industry in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The department provides a systematic curriculum covering both fundamentals and advanced studies, including machine learning and deep learning as core foundations, as well as the latest trends such as natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and generative AI.

The Department of Big Data & Information Security was established to foster talents with the skills needed in the key fields of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The department has achieved outstanding results, including winning numerous data analysis and AI modeling competitions, securing blockchain research projects, hosting expert lectures in big data/AI/information security, and organizing big data/AI idea contests.

In addition, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Big Data & Information Security are jointly addressing the growing demand for coding test preparation among job seekers. Together, they operate a coding test preparation track that reflects current hiring trends, ranging from introductory programming to data structures and algorithms, as well as problem-solving programming skills.
