Lee Sang-Yeob Math Hobby Lecture “Beyond Real” - July 12th(Sat), 2:00 p.m., Tchaikovsky Hall, Building A Hosted by the Big Data
& AI Center (bigdataai.iscu.ac.kr), a special mathematics lecture by
instructor Lee Sang-Yeob (operator of the YouTube channel Lee Sang-Yeob Math)
will be held on July 12th(Sat), at 2:00 p.m. in Tchaikovsky Hall,
Building A. The lecture, titled “Hobby Mathematics ? Beyond Real”, is open not
only to enrolled students of our university but also to anyone interested, with
prior registration. Noh Geon-Tae, Director
of the Big Data & AI Center (Dean of the College of Engineering), stated,
“We hope that many people will be able to feel the beauty and joy of
mathematics,” adding, “This lecture has been prepared to help enhance
mathematical thinking and creative capacity among the public.” The Big Data & AI
Center, which is hosting the lecture, was established in 2020 to strengthen the
big data and artificial intelligence competencies of faculty and students and
to improve work efficiency through big data and AI-based approaches. Since its
founding, the center has worked closely with the Department of Big Data &
Information Security to promote the expansion and convergence of big data and
AI. In particular, it has recently been actively collaborating with internal
and external AI experts and organizing expert lectures. Meanwhile, the
Department of Artificial Intelligence, newly revamped in 2024 to cultivate
experts in one of the most promising fields of the Fourth Industrial
Revolution, offers a comprehensive curriculum from fundamentals to advanced
applications. The program is designed to build both theoretical understanding
and practical skills in AI through courses on machine learning and deep
learning, while also covering trending fields such as natural language
processing, reinforcement learning, and generative AI. The Department of Big
Data & Information Security was established to nurture talents equipped
with essential skills in the core technologies of the Fourth Industrial
Revolution - big data and information security. It has achieved notable
accomplishments, including awards in multiple data analysis and AI modeling
competitions, winning blockchain research projects, hosting external expert
lectures in big data/AI/information security, and organizing big data/AI idea
contests. In addition, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Big Data & Information Security are jointly addressing one of the most crucial needs of today’s job seekers: preparation for coding tests. Together, they operate a coding test preparation track that reflects current employment trends, ranging from introductory programming to data structures and algorithms, as well as problem-solving programming implementation skills. |
