Hosting Special Lecture on Tea Meditation and Sound Meditation - October 11 th(Sat), 1:00 PM, at Main Building A, Room 501
![]() On October 11th(Sat),
the Department of Yoga and Meditation at the College of Wellness and Health
(headed by Professor Lee Min Young) will host the 2025 Fall Semester Meditation
Special Lecture titled “Tea Meditation, Sound Meditation, and the Breath of
Loving-Kindness” at Main Building A, Room 501. This special lecture is open to
enrolled students as well as prospective applicants.
The program will be
moderated by Professor Lee Min Young, Chair of the Department of Yoga and
Meditation, and will feature three meditation instructors. Lee Min Young,
professor in the Department of Yoga and Meditation, Director of the Munsasu
Meditation Research Institute, and board member of the Korea Meditation
Instructors Association, will lead the program “Breathing and Loving-Kindness
in Presence - Meeting Myself Through Loving Breath.” Park Yoon Young (“Danjeong”),
CEO of Tea Meditation Lab Danjeonghan Afternoon, a certified tea meditation
specialist with qualifications as a tea sommelier and tea instructor, will lead
“Let’s All Cha-Cha-Cha! Mindful Tea Meditation - A Quiet Moment to Linger with
the Fragrance of Tea.” Lee Joo Hyun (“Jian”), CEO of Sun: Collective
Association, Korea’s first certified Singing Bowl Meditation Instructor, a
certified meditation specialist at the Korea Meditation Instructors
Association, and a sound healing meditation practitioner, will conduct
“Resonance of the Heart, Singing Bowl Sound Meditation - Restoring Body and
Mind through the Waves of Sound.” After the three programs, all participants
will share reflections on their meditation experience and engage in a group
sharing session. Professor Lee Min Young,
Chair of the Department of Yoga and Meditation, remarked: “We planned this meditation lecture to
mark the second half of 2025. Tea meditation and sound meditation utilize the
five senses, making them easily accessible even for beginners who are new to
meditation. We hope many people will join us in this special program.” Meanwhile, the Department of Yoga and Meditation, newly established in 2025, has invited distinguished professors in each field as endowed faculty. Professor Lee Geu Ryong, Yoga Department teaches chakra meditation, guiding students toward methods of achieving balance and harmony of body and mind. Professor Ahn Hee Young, Meditation Department, Director of the Korea MBSR Mindfulness Research Institute, studied directly under Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of MBSR, and holds the title of Korea’s first certified MBSR mindfulness meditation expert. In addition, a monk from Japan, who practiced Buddhist meditation for 10 years in Sri Lanka, will be in charge of Buddhist meditation, and Professor Jang Ji Sook, who systematized somayoga in Korea, will also be with him. |
