Campus Visit

On September 16th(Tue),
migrant-background youth from Hwawon Community Welfare Center’s Rainbow School
visited our university for a campus tour and a special lecture. This visit was designed to provide
migrant-background middle and high school students with an opportunity to
indirectly experience and understand Korea’s diverse university types and
majors. Through this, they were encouraged to explore career paths, strengthen
their academic motivation, and foster adaptation and integration into Korean
society. A total of 15 youth from Rainbow School
participated. Professor Kim Hwan, head of the Department of AI Creators,
introduced the department and explained its connection to career paths and the
professional world after entering higher education. In addition, Yoo Sorina,
CEO of Alpaca Production and a leading figure in the field of virtual content,
gave a special lecture on “The World of Virtual Creators,” sharing the latest
industry trends and future prospects.

After the lecture, participants went on a
campus tour visiting key educational spaces including the content studio, smart
classrooms, international conference hall, and the Tchaikovsky Hall. They also
had the opportunity to experience firsthand the university’s online education
system and learning environment. Rainbow School at Hwawon Community Welfare
Center provides migrant-background youth with Korean language education, career
education, essential academic support, and programs to improve social
relationships as well as basic information about Korean society. It also
assists with transfer into regular school curricula, career guidance, and
adaptation support to help students settle into society. Professor Kim Hwan (Head of the Department
of AI Creators) remarked, “I hope this visit by the Rainbow School youth
becomes a strong foundation for their dreams, visions, and career exploration
in the future.” Meanwhile, in March of last year, our
university signed an agreement with the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare
Institute under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and with the
Foundation for Supporting Migrant Youth, to provide educational programs and
curriculum support for out-of-school and migrant-background youth. The
university also launched the Dream Scholarship Project to expand educational
support for underprivileged students. The Department of AI Creators, which organized the virtual creator special lecture for this event, continues to serve as a guiding light for the next generation of media content creators. Through its curriculum, the department bridges the gap between traditional media production methods and the limitless possibilities brought by artificial intelligence. It introduces cutting-edge AI platforms such as ChatGPT and RunwayML, and is designed not only to help students understand the theoretical foundations of AI but also to apply these principles directly in media content creation, enabling them to deliver tailored media experiences to their target audiences. |
