Mechanical and Control Engineering

Department Overview

The mechanical engineering field is generally divided into five areas: metal products, general machinery, electrical machinery, precision machinery, and transport machinery. Mechanical engineering has been digitized through convergence with electrical and electronics engineering along with the development of IT technologies. The machines have become more intelligent and diversified as the computer system has been introduced. The mechanical control engineering department is a department converged with mechanical, electrical and electronics, and control engineering, teaching core advanced technologies such as intelligent cars, robots, aerospace, semiconductor, and nano technologies as well as the manufacturing industries of machines, cars, shipbuilding, and electronic appliances.

In the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, mechanical control engineering is steadily developing as it is connected to the Internet, with AI systems being converged with IT technologies in the fields of automation of machinery manufacturing and factory operation, advanced robot manufacturing, and various machine-applied technologies. It has become essential to foster creative and innovative talents equipped with mechanical control engineering skills as the unlimited technology competition will be further intensified in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.

To foster convergence talents who will lead the most advanced mechanical control technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, the mechanical control engineering department teaches both theories and online skills concerning mechanical technologies, AI control technologies, robot technologies, and machine-applied technologies. It also fosters mechanical control specialists by offering courses for obtaining local and international qualifications to apply rapidly changing mechanical control technologies immediately in the situation of unlimited technology competition or in preparation for advancement into graduate schools to become future mechanical control engineers.

Purposes and Objectives of Education

The Mechanical Control Engineering Department teaches user-centered technology-specialized education as well as the most advanced mechanical control engineering required in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. The department’s objective is to foster mechanical control specialists for practical technologies and skills specializing in artificial intelligence-based control, robots, and applied mechanics. The department also aims to foster future specialist personnel by helping students acquire various qualifications and advance to graduate schools in addition to hands-on education for efficient adaptation to changes in advanced technologies at the site of mechanical control industries.
