On the 15th (Wednesday), a collaborative agreement between the AI Smart Farming Department and Nexton Corporation (Represented by CEO Choi Jae-bin), the top smart farming company in the country, was formalized.

"Nexton Corporation possesses proprietary LED technology, playing a pivotal role as the 'sun' in smart farming. With this technology, it efficiently supplies the optimized light intensity required for photosynthesis of crops at low power. Nexton is a comprehensive smart farming solution company that develops indoor farm infrastructure, including Internet of Things (IoT) systems for controlling temperature, humidity, and wind, as well as an automatic irrigation system that regulates flow rates. In 2018, they successfully converted the Okcheon Tunnel in Chungbuk into the world's largest tunnel-type indoor farm (approximately 6,700㎡) and have been operating it successfully. In 2020, they achieved the world's first mass production of low-temperature crops, specifically strawberries, in an indoor farm."

The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of President Lee Eun-joo, Vice President Jung Sang-won, Vice President Gu Gook-mo, along with Professors Park Chan-su, Kim Eun-gwang, and Yoon Jae-hyun from our university. From Nexton Corporation, CEO Choi Jae-bin, CEO Song Young-jin, Team Leader Kim Jang-woo, and Manager Lee Geon-young attended to engage in discussions regarding collaborative initiatives."

This initiative aims to help students acquire hands-on technical skills from the industry, fostering practical competence. It is designed to offer them opportunities to apply their expertise in the workforce after graduation, demonstrating their professional capabilities.
