This recognition comes in appreciation of their steadfast commitment to sharing and practicing love, thereby contributing to the improvement of disability welfare and fostering a joyful local community. Established in 2016, the university's Sunshine Volunteer Corps, primarily composed of current students and graduates in the Gyeonggi Southern region, continues to actively engage in volunteer work. The corps, known for its energetic presence, regularly conducts various volunteer services. They visit the Siheung Senior Comprehensive Welfare Center on the first Wednesday and the Anyang Senior Comprehensive Welfare Center on the second Thursday of each month, participating in tasks such as meal distribution and facility cleaning. Additionally, on the third Saturday of every month, the corps supports 'Yangji's House,' a residence for severely disabled children in Dangjeong, Gunpo City, Gyeonggi Province, providing assistance with meals and engaging in cleaning activities. Beyond their regular commitments, the Sunshine Volunteer Corps has undertaken diverse volunteer initiatives. They participated in a tree-planting event at Dangjeong Park to celebrate Arbor Day and lent a helping hand to local farms by assisting with tasks, including visiting grape farms and peanut fields. In each region of our university, there exists a regional student council, and within each council, various volunteer groups operate. These groups are involved in diverse volunteer activities, including meal distribution for vulnerable elderly individuals, cleaning services for disability facilities, foot massages at care facilities, and mural painting for marginalized groups. These efforts are not limited to student councils; the university actively leads in social sharing through various avenues. Additionally, the university designates the 13th day of every month as SCU Blood Donation Day, practicing the Love for Life and Sharing Movement. Through volunteer activities such as home improvement for neighbors facing difficulties, the university supports households with disabled members, helping enhance their living environments. The university shares its outstanding lectures with the public through various free special talks, actively practicing knowledge-sharing and serving as a positive model for inclusive education.
