On Friday, the 25th, Our University, along with its Student Council led by President Kim Sun-hwa, majoring in Elderly Welfare, visited the Korean Red Cross chaired by Mr. Kim Cheol-soo to deliver a donation of 15 million won to assist those affected by the flood caused by concentrated heavy rainfall.

The University Student Council actively participated in fundraising by promoting involvement not only among enrolled students but also among departmental and major student associations, local student councils, and executive members of the Student Council Executive Board.

President Lee Eunjoo remarked, "Seoul Cyber University is committed to actively supporting our community" and emphasized, "We regularly organize blood donation drives, and during times of disaster, our cyber community will unite to continue our charitable efforts."

President of the Student Council Kim Seon-hwa said, "We hope our contribution provides some relief to the victims, who have suffered serious damage from the unprecedented heavy rainfall." She added, "In the future, wherever a helping hand is needed, the Student Council will always step forward wherever and whenever support is required."

Chairman Kim Cheol-su of the Korean Red Cross remarked, "Our bond with Seoul Cyber University is exceptionally strong. We extend our gratitude to those Seoul Cyber University students who juggle both work and academics and I look forward to maintaining a close relationship in the future."

In related news, our university's Student Council has been actively engaging in humanitarian initiatives. Beyond this recent donation for flood victims, they contributed 10 million won in 2020 towards COVID-19 prevention measures, and another 10 million won in 2022 to assist wildfire victims, embodying the life-saving ethos of the Red Cross.

Beyond the efforts of the Student Council, the university actively practices social responsibility through diverse channels. They've dedicated the 13th of every month as 'SCU Blood Donation Day,' reinforcing a culture of loving and sharing life. Volunteer initiatives, like 'Home Repair,' aim to uplift the living conditions of households with disabled members. The university also highlights its commitment to sharing knowledge by offering a range of free special lectures, enabling the wider public to benefit from its high-quality courses and standing as a fine example of inclusive education.
