SCU Beauty Creator Contest
- Recruiting Talent to Shape the Future of the Beauty Industry


Our university is hosting the '1st SCU Beauty Creator Contest.' Organized by the Department of Beauty Design, the contest aims to discover beauty creators who will lead the evolving beauty industry in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Anyone nationwide, including high school students and adults interested in beauty, can participate.

Works can be submitted via the Department of Beauty Design website (beauty.iscu.ac.kr) by November 7th for the first round and by December 5th for the second round.
Entries must be beauty-related videos under 10 minutes, covering hair, makeup, skincare, nail art, etc. Participants must perform the procedures themselves, with the option to use models if necessary. Winning entries will be selected based on creativity, production quality, understanding of the mission, completeness, and potential for development. The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of 500,000 won, while winners of gold, silver, and bronze awards will receive certificates along with cultural gift vouchers.

Our university has established a Beauty Design Department this year to cultivate beauty professionals and aesthetic specialists who will lead the Korean beauty wave. We aim to nurture professional artists and educators in the field, covering the fundamental theories of beauty design such as cosmetic arts, hair, nails, makeup, broadcast makeup, and provide education on smart beauty care content for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as well as global education on K-Beauty health content.

Furthermore, our university's Beauty Design Department has opened state-of-the-art practice studios and provides top-quality lectures. Every weekend, we offer practical special lectures on the latest beauty trends to help students adapt to the industry. We showcase high-level education through various industry-academic agreements. We have agreements with leading associations across beauty, color, and image in South Korea, such as the Korea Beauty Salon Association, the Korea Makeup Professional Association, the Korea Style Professional Association, the Corporation International Beauty Technology Certification Association, the Korea Personal Coordinator Association, and the AICI International Image Association Korea Seoul Chapter. Additionally, we have partnerships with beauty shops like Jennie House, Juno Hair, Hwami Ju Hair, iMagine Korea, and Go Hair, providing practical training and job placement assistance to our students.

Cha Myung-hee, the head of the Beauty Design Department (Dean of the Design College), remarked, "Those at the forefront of K-Beauty must showcase their expertise through diverse content avenues," stating, "This competition will serve as a platform to validate their potential."

Meanwhile, our university is researching and developing various programs and an educational model (On-Flex) as part of the educational innovation project funded by the Ministry of Education to align with the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. This year, our university has been selected for the K-MOOC operation project for the fourth consecutive year and achieved the remarkable feat of selecting the highest number of courses in 2021. A total of 5 courses will be unveiled by the end of the year, including ▲Basic Course for Elderly Psychological Counselors (Professor Lee Woo-kyung and 8 others) ▲The Role of Games in the Untact Era - Enriching Daily Life with Health and Abundance (Professor Cha Myung-hee from the Beauty Design Department) ▲Integrated Art Psychology for Self-care (Professor Yeo Jung-yoon and 3 others) ▲Lifestyle Finance in the Untact Era (Professor Seo Young-soo) ▲Making Friends with Classical Music (Professor Yoon So-young from the Piano Department).
