Seoul Cyber
University Achieves Double Victory in Government-Funded Projects! Leading the
Way in Remote Education Innovation and AI·XR Learning Environments - First
among cyber universities to be selected twice in a row for the Remote
University Education Innovation Support Project - The
only major cyber university selected for the Digital Learning Environment
Advancement Project
Seoul Cyber University has once again
proven its position as a leader in Korean remote education by achieving a
remarkable double victory in government-funded education initiatives hosted by
the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information
Service (KERIS).
Following its unprecedented second
consecutive selection in 2024 for the Remote University Education Innovation
Support Project, the university has now, within less than a year, also been
chosen as the only major cyber university to win the 2025 Cyber University
Digital Learning Environment Advancement Project. This series of
accomplishments is being hailed as a rare feat in the education community, with
experts remarking that “the standard for cyber universities has been elevated.”
The Digital Learning Environment Advancement
Project, newly established after four years, aims to build future-ready
educational models centered on AI and XR technologies. Seoul Cyber University
proposed a visionary initiative titled “Empowering Adult Learners through
EduTech-based OMNI Class,” earning high marks with its immersive and practical
learning environment model featuring AI simulators, interactive LMS, and XR
content.
Through this project, the university is
overcoming the traditional limitations of practice-based disciplines?such as
Vocal Music, Piano, Applied Music, Fine Arts, Music Therapy, and Architectural
Space Design?by leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies. Notably, the OMNI
Class Studio and AI-based discussion and mentoring systems are designed to
maximize real-time interaction between professors and students, fundamentally
addressing the long-standing issue of a lack of hands-on experience often
associated with cyber universities.
President Eun-Joo Lee stated, “Our repeated
selection for major government-funded programs is a testament to both the
innovation potential of cyber universities and the systemic competitiveness of
Seoul Cyber University,” adding, “We will continue to set new standards in
higher education with practical, flexible, and learner-centered education models
tailored for adult learners.”
Previously, the university also became the first cyber university to be selected twice in a row for the Remote University Education Innovation Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of Education and KERIS. In the first round, it was the only one among the four selected institutions nationwide to receive an “Excellent” rating, earning it a reputation as the “Ivy League” of cyber universities. With robust government funding, Seoul Cyber University is now transforming the higher education landscape with next-generation models that extend learning opportunities to marginalized communities. |
