Social Welfare Program giving a lecture in the university’s smart classroom The Graduate School has begun accepting
applications for new students for the Fall 2025 semester. Applications are being accepted for the
Master’s and Doctoral programs in Social Welfare and the Doctoral program in
Counseling and Clinical Psychology, with the application deadline set for
Thursday, June 19. Prospective students can apply through the graduate school’s
website (grad.iscu.ac.kr). Dean Hwan Kim stated, “Building on the
strengths and expertise developed over the past 14 years since the school’s
founding, we are committed to providing the optimal educational environment at
the top cyber university-based graduate school,” adding, “To achieve this, we
will continuously enhance the quality of education and student support systems
while developing forward-looking educational programs aimed at fostering
practical and creative talent.” The Master’s and Doctoral programs in
Social Welfare are the first of their kind offered by a cyber university and
aim to cultivate innovative social welfare leaders who will lead a sustainable
society. To train practical professionals capable of transforming today’s
rapidly changing society into a sustainable one, the programs offer specialized
education in three key areas: “Social Welfare Policy and Administration Experts”,
“Clinical Social Work Practice Specialists”, “Social Welfare Data Analysis
Experts”. Each track includes tailored courses, research groups, field trips,
and practicum programs, all designed to meet the individual needs of students.
Graduates will be well-prepared as field specialists with strong professional
competitiveness. The programs also pursue global competence through active
academic cooperation with leading overseas universities. Despite being an
online university, Seoul Cyber University offers a nationwide field education
and internship network through its industry-academia cooperation institutions.
Graduates can pursue careers in various fields such as social welfare-related
public service, research positions in social welfare and social services,
social enterprise consulting, directorships of social service centers or care
centers for the elderly and children, and social work practice positions in
welfare institutions. The Doctoral Program in Counseling and
Clinical Psychology features the largest full-time faculty in the country and
top-tier educational infrastructure. The program aims to cultivate creative
psychological experts who will lead in the future knowledge society. With
modern society increasingly characterized by generational and cultural
diversity, the program trains specialists who can assist individuals in
adapting and resolving psychological challenges. It offers differentiated
curricula through four specialized tracks: “Counseling Psychology”, “Clinical
Psychology”, “Coaching Psychology”, “General Psychology”. Students have the
opportunity to engage in hands-on practicum and certification training programs
involving real-world cases through five on-campus counseling centers (located
in Seoul, Bundang, Incheon, Daegu, and Gwangju) as well as a nationwide network
of affiliated counseling institutions. Graduates can pursue careers as
professional counselors, clinical psychologists, or coaching psychology
experts. Meanwhile, Seoul Cyber University has been
the top choice among students, recording the highest number of new admissions
among cyber universities for five consecutive years (2020?2024, according to
the Higher Education in Korea database). It is also the first cyber university
in Korea to receive an A-grade in all three official evaluations by the
Ministry of Education (2007, 2013, 2020). The university will begin accepting
applications for undergraduate new and transfer students for the second half of
the 2025 academic year starting Sunday, June 1. Prospective students can
schedule admission consultations through the Admissions Support Center
(apply.iscu.ac.kr). |
