Cross for emergency living expenses for those displaced by the wildfire and for
restoration efforts in affected areas. Kim Cheol-Soo, President of the Korean Red
Cross, stated, “We sincerely thank the members of Seoul Cyber University for
their warm-hearted contribution. This donation will be a great source of
strength for the victims.” Student Council President Lee Young-Woo
remarked, “We hope this can help even one more person find a warm place to call
home. This meaningful donation was made possible through the active
participation and promotion efforts of 48 department chairs, 18 regional
chairs, and the student council executive team, all united as one.” Meanwhile, beyond this recent wildfire
relief effort, the university has consistently participated in humanitarian
activities led by the Korean Red Cross, including donations for victims of the
2023 heavy rains, support for wildfire victims in 2022, and contributions to
prevent the spread of COVID-19 in 2020. The university also leads various social
outreach programs. For instance, it has designated the 13th of every month as
“SCU Blood Donation Day” to promote the value of life through blood donation.
It also supports underprivileged households, including those with disabilities,
through volunteer home improvement activities. In addition, Seoul Cyber
University shares its high-quality lectures with the public through free
special lectures, practicing knowledge sharing and exemplifying inclusive
education. |
