“Future society” of Seoul Cyber University (President Lee Eun Joo, www.iscu.ac.kr) was selected as a Korea Citation Index (KCI)-accredited journal candidate of the National Research Foundation of Korea. This is the only case wherein the journal’s academic specialization has been recognized by the National Research Foundation among all cyber universities in Korea. The selection of "Future society" as a Korea Citation Index (KCI)-accredited journal candidate means that its authority and specialization as an academic journal in the relevant field have been recognized.

Since its first issue was published in 2010, "Future society" has sought to seek solutions while extracting agenda of the future society and proactively predicting various problems that may arise in the uncertain future society. Its achievements have been steadily recognized by field experts as well as the academe. The university authorities expect the current selection as a Korea Citation Index (KCI)-accredited journal candidate to provide an opportunity for the academic value carried by "Future society" to be recognized more correctly. In the current assessment, "Future society" has been highly evaluated to have published many theses that sought diverse types of social science-level introspection and their specific applications corresponding to local and overseas utilization and contribution of academic achievements.
The evaluation report also found the expertise of journal editors, extensibility, and strictness of various policies to be noteworthy.
President Lee vowed to strengthen support to academic activities so that the academic achievements of research on the overall future society may be accumulated and utilized continuously.

"Future society has contributed to academic development through a comprehensive research of various sectors of the future society. The current selection as a KCI-accredited journal candidate will provide a turning point where 'Future society' will be recognized as an academic journal that disseminates research on future society sectors in Korea locally and internationally and proposes related policies," said Director Kim Hyeon-ah of the Future Society Strategy Research Institute (Professor of SCU’s Counseling Psychology Department).
“Future society” is an official journal published annually by the SCU Future Society Strategy Research Institute. Its first issue was published in 2010. The 1st issue of its 11th Volume is slated to be released in November 2020.

SCU plans to recruit new and transfer students from December 1.
