Department of Korean Language Education, Special Lecture on “Writing Lesson Plans for Korean
Grammar Classes” - Two sessions will be held
on August 17th (Sun) and August 30th (Sat); the first session will be conducted online via
ZOOM
The Department of Korean Language Education (headed by Professor Kim Eun Ho) will hold a special lecture titled “Writing Lesson Plans for Korean Grammar Classes - Theory and Practice” on August 17th (Sun) and August 30th (Sat), over two sessions. This special lecture is open to current students, alumni, and prospective students of our university, and participation is available after prior registration. Applications and further details can be found on the department’s homepage. The Department of Korean Language Education
offers a variety of special lectures to strengthen the practical teaching
competencies of both prospective and current Korean language teachers. In
particular, this lecture will be led by teacher Kang Gui Rye, who has extensive
field experience and is currently teaching at the Korean Language Institute of
Korea Polytechnic University. In this session, she will provide
practice-oriented instruction along with demonstration-based training. “Lesson plan writing” is an essential skill
for designing and conducting Korean language classes, and the Department of
Korean Language Education organizes special lectures on this theme every
semester. Although the topic remains the same, different lecturers are invited
each time, allowing participants to encounter diverse instructional design
methods and real-life examples. Meanwhile, the Department of Korean
Language Education offers courses that qualify students to obtain the Level 2
Korean Language Teacher Certificate (authorized by the Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism) and the Level 2 Multicultural Society Specialist
Certificate (issued by the Ministry of Justice). These programs prepare
graduates to work either domestically or internationally as Korean language
teachers or multicultural society specialists. In particular, through
practice-based training, lesson plan writing, and class management experience,
students develop the practical skills needed in actual teaching environments. Upon graduation, career paths include serving as instructors at domestic and overseas universities or university-affiliated Korean language institutions, Korean language teachers at institutions running the Ministry of Justice’s Social Integration Program, KOICA volunteers under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Korean language instructors at migrant support centers, and dispatched Korean language teachers at King Sejong Institute Foundation branches abroad. Relevant certifications include the Level 2 Korean Language Teacher Certificate (national license) and the Level 2 Multicultural Society Specialist Certificate (issued by the Ministry of Justice, awarded under the university president’s name). |
