The 'Happy Space' club was established by students from the Department of Architectural Space Design at Seoul Cyber University in 2019. Currently, it consists of around 40 enrolled students and alumni from various departments, aiming to 'revitalize spaces' in the residences of disadvantaged neighbors. This volunteer activity is part of Seoul Cyber University's social service program, conducted in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross, aimed at improving living environments for disabled households in need of support. The activity involves identifying and recommending households in need, and it started with the first location in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province in August 2019. This year, it will take place in the Gwangju area of Gyeonggi Province on August 15th (Saturday) to 16th (Sunday). In 2020, our university's social service program was adopted as a club activity, and through promotion by the Student Council, participation was encouraged from students across the nation and 32 departments. The program, driven by voluntary fundraising and volunteer work, aimed to support social service efforts by students at Seoul Cyber University. By nurturing practical talents with both domestic and international competitiveness, the department aims to contribute to the future of Korean architecture. Vice Chancellor Lee Jae-woong of the Student Affairs expressed his hope, saying, "I hope that through this home renovation activity, we can provide warmth and love to our marginalized neighbors." He added, "Seoul Cyber University will continue to lead in practicing neighborly love through various activities in the future. |
