Expanding Student Exchange with
Vietnam’s PTIT - Opening a Platform for Global Exchange through the
29th Overseas Historical and Cultural Exploration Program
[Photo] The
29th Overseas History and Culture Exploration team poses for a commemorative
photo during an exchange with Vietnam’s PTIT. From November 26th (Wed) to
Sunday 30th (Sun), our university successfully carried out
international exchange activities as part of the 29th Overseas
History and Culture Exploration Program, visiting Hanoi and Ha Long Bay in
Vietnam. A total of 24 students from 15 departments (majors), including the
Department of Architectural Space Design, the Senior Welfare major, and the
Department of Practical Music, participated in the program. This exploration was especially meaningful
as the delegation officially visited Posts and Telecommunications Institute of
Technology (PTIT), one of Vietnam’s leading national universities. Our
university and PTIT signed a 2+2 joint degree program agreement last year and
have since been jointly operating an online dual-degree program based on this
partnership.
Representing PTIT, Dr. Viet Hung Nguyen,
Vice Dean of the Office of International Cooperation, along with international
exchange students, attended the event. Centered around SCU Ambassador students,
the program featured introductions to student life at both universities, a
campus tour, recreational activities, and various exchange programs. Through
these activities, students were able to enhance mutual understanding and build
closer relationships. Lee Jong Won, Director of the International
Exchange Center, who led the program, stated, “This student-centered exchange
activity is highly meaningful in that it has laid the groundwork for expanding
into sustained academic and cultural exchanges.” Meanwhile, to strengthen global competencies, our university has established sister-university partnerships with leading institutions abroad including Vietnam’s PTIT, Stockholm University in Sweden, and California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) in the United States and is actively engaged in joint research, content exchange, co-development of course content, and special lectures by invited professors. |
