Lecture with Author Hansan-iga of The Trauma Code: Heroes on call - November 8th (Sat) at 12 PM, Room 502, Building A - Open to Creative
Writing students and anyone interested in web novels or drama creation
(pre-registration required)
The Department of Literary Creation (Chair Professor Min Sun) will host a special lecture titled “Fun as Envisioned by a Web Novel Writer” by author Hansan-iga on November 8th (Sat) at 12 PM in Room 502, Building A. The lecture is open to Literary Creation students at Seoul Cyber University as well as anyone interested in web novel or drama writing. Participants can register in advance through the department’s website. Author Hansan-iga has
written numerous works, including 『Military Doctor Lee Gaega Da』, 『Passionate Doctor Toward Becoming a Master』,
『The Tower of Medicine』, 『Doctor Goes to Joseon』, 『Do You Believe in the Doctor?』, 『Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour』, 『A.I. Doctor, Post-Pandemic』, 『The Black-Haired British Doctor』, 『God of Web Novels』, 『Doctor Friends’ OMG World History』, 『Severe Trauma Center: Surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk』, and 『Doctor Friends’ Narrow Escape World
History』. Notably, 『Severe
Trauma Center: Golden Hour』 is the original work behind
the Netflix No. 1 drama and one of Hansan-iga’s most representative titles. This special lecture,
“Fun as Envisioned by a Web Novel Writer,” will offer a valuable opportunity to
gain real world insights into web novel and genre writing directly from Hansan-iga
both a practicing professional and a bestselling author. Students will also
have the chance to participate directly, engaging in Q&A sessions on
writing and creative practice, making it an especially meaningful opportunity
for aspiring writers. Professor Min Sun,
Chair of the Department of Literary Creation at Seoul Cyber University, stated,
“We prepared this special lecture for those interested in web novel and drama
creation. We hope many will participate, especially those who wish to study
these fields in greater depth.” Meanwhile, the Department of Literary Creation at Seoul Cyber University is the first among domestic four-year universities, including cyber universities, to adopt a “web literary arts” education approach. In addition to theory and practice in creative writing, the program teaches students how to publish and distribute their works using digital platforms, distinguishing it from traditional creative writing departments. Reflecting an era in which all literary genres from web novels and webtoons to traditional novels, poetry, and essays are distributed online, the department aims to cultivate the ability to create and share works across all genres using the web. The department also offers various systems to help students become professional writers, including the Web Novel Mentoring Program, jointly operated with Writer Company Co., Ltd., which provides hands-on training and support for students to debut as authors.
