Unification, Security and North Korean Studies

Department Overview

The Unification, Security and North Korean Studies department aims to cultivate experts who can understand the fundamental issues of national security and unification and seek forward-looking solutions amid the rapidly changing international order and the security and unification environment on the Korean Peninsula.

Based on an objective understanding of North Korea, the program seeks to foster convergence-oriented professionals equipped with a sound sense of security, a future-oriented vision for unification, and a solid academic foundation in the field of unification and security studies.

Objectives of education

To stably manage the security situation on the Korean Peninsula, this program cultivates a correct understanding of and deep insight into North Korea and the peninsula’s security realities.

It also enhances proactive and creative capabilities to understand the necessity of reunification, envision the future of Korean reunification, and implement concrete actions to lay the foundation for unification.
